I am most excited about the English and the Papacy because those are the histories I know the best. I'm kind of torn between the two, actually.
Re: SUN-01 & SUN-02 Here I Stand (full up!)
English it is! (Pope and Hapsburgs should tend to have a bit more experience, if possible.)

I'm up to take the Hapsburgs!
Re: SUN-01 & SUN-02 Here I Stand (full up!)
You're the best. I think that puts me at the Pope, then.
Re: SUN-01 & SUN-02 Here I Stand (full up!)
Protestant / French / Ottoman players?
Ottoman is the easiest military power, Protestant the easiest religious power, and France is somewhere in the middle (hard to grasp, tho).

I’ll take the Protestants.

Done. Still left: Ottomans, French.
Remember to please skim the rulebook (https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/gmtw ... S-2017.pdf) and read your own faction's portions in detail; this will make things much smoother on the day.
(Just like playing D&D: it's best to know your own abilities well, the DM will be hard-pressed to remind you of them.)
